Hand Finished Frames

Gesso and bole washed frames represent about 80% of our total output. We have a reputation for producing top quality hand finished water gilded frames for artists and art collectors.

We use a range of gold leaf finishes: standard 23 3/4 carat, moon gold, white gold and coloured golds, together with imitation metal gold leaf.

Final colour washes are applied to a prepared gesso base in various tones to match the picture if necessary, gilded distressed and burnished.

For those who want a cheaper frame, colour staining, lime wax and natural wax finishes are possible.
